Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola, 19, and Miraldie Ndunzi, 22, were arrested by the Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit. Police said they were found with about 23kg of cocaine each, worth roughly $1million Barbados dollars (£440,000) each.
The pair appeared in court in Horse Hill, St Joseph, on October 2. They have been charged with possession, trafficking, intent to supply, and attempting to export cocaine.
The arrest comes after a similar incident in February 2025, where a 71-year-old Canadian man, Ronald Lord, tried to smuggle £640,000 of cocaine into the UK from Barbados by hiding it in his mobility scooter.
