Mamata Banerjee Serves Legal Notice
West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari warned Mamata Banerjee against digging too deep into the disclosure of her medical records. Banerjee's lawyers served a legal notice on SSKM Hospital and the State Health Department over the alleged disclosure of her medical records without her consent.

Mamata Banerjee's lawyers served a legal notice on SSKM Hospital, the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences, and the State Health Department on Monday. The notice is regarding the alleged disclosure of her medical records from 2021 without her consent.
The development comes two days after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari made her medical report public. Adhikari claimed that Banerjee had faked her injury.
The controversy dates back to March 10, 2021, when Banerjee sustained injuries to her left leg and waist in Nandigram during an election campaign. She alleged that miscreants had slammed shut the door of her car.
Adhikari said the West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department was already investigating the matter. He added that the State government would launch a fresh probe after the upcoming Assembly byelection.
Banerjee's lawyer Arka Nag sent the notice via email to the Director and Medical Superintendent of SSKM, and the Head of the Department of Neurology at the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences. The notice seeks an explanation on how Banerjee's medical records had reached Adhikari and subsequently been made public.
Adhikari warned Banerjee against digging too deep into the disclosure of her medical records. He said more documents could be made public if necessary.
Banerjee also appealed to her deserters to return to her fold within 15 days. She made the desperate call in an audio message played at a rally organised by her faction, Mamata All India Trinamool Congress.
State BJP president Samik Bhattacharya reacted to Banerjee's message, saying there is no point of return as the party has lost its symbol with its bank accounts frozen and it also ceased to exist.
