Parramatta Eels have signed four-time premiership winner Spencer Leniu on a four-year deal, the club announced. Leniu will join the Eels immediately after being granted an immediate release from the Sydney Roosters.

The 26-year-old prop has won four NRL premierships and has State of Origin honours for New South Wales. He is renowned for his explosive carries and physical presence on the field.

Eels general manager of football Mark O’Neill said the club is thrilled to have Leniu on board. He described Leniu as one of the elite middle forwards in the game, who has consistently performed on the biggest stages throughout his career.

Leniu's departure from the Roosters is the fifth premiership player to leave the club. Roosters coach Trent Robinson credited Leniu for his strong presence, on and off the field, during his three years at the club.

The Eels have also appointed Mike Rush as their new chief executive. Rush has 27 years of experience in rugby league, including 13 years as the chief executive of St Helens in the Super League.

Rush will work with coach Jason Ryles to turn the Eels into a genuine contender. The club has already recruited Jarome Luai and Jaydn Su’A from 2027, and has signed Knights centre Bradman Best.

Leniu's signing and Rush's appointment are major boosts for the Eels, who are looking to improve their performance after missing the finals series since 2022.
