Apple has released the third iOS 27.2 developer beta for testing purposes, two weeks after the second beta was released. Registered developers can download the update by opting in under Settings.
The iOS 27.2 update includes a redesigned Health app with new Insight and Longevity tabs, as well as Siri AI in new languages. Other new features include Dual Capture for Group FaceTime calls and a Messages feature that offers suggestions based on conversation context.
The Dual Capture feature allows users to capture video simultaneously with both the rear main camera and selfie camera. This feature will also be available for Group FaceTime calls, in addition to individual calls.
The redesigned Health app is organized into three main tabs: Insights, Longevity, and Browse. The Insights tab includes vitals, heart rate, and other related current health information, while the Longevity tab includes health data over a period of time.
The Messages feature offers one-tap options to add events to calendars or set reminders based on conversation context. This feature can also help users find photos, locations, and contacts related to the conversation.
Apple is also splitting the 'Up Next' section in Apple Podcasts into two different sections. Additionally, the Apple TV app on iOS will now support user profiles.
The iPhone Duo is set to launch on October 23, and Apple likely wants to keep some of its features hidden until then. The company plans to ship the iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1, but the iOS 27.2 beta is being released ahead of schedule.
