By the end of 2026, Spotify will expand audiobook access from 22 markets to over 180, allowing more than 750 million people to stream or purchase books on the platform.
The expansion will include over 350,000 titles in more than 120 languages, including new catalogs in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, and more.
Owen Smith, VP of Audiobooks at Spotify, said that bringing audiobooks to more markets means millions more people can discover reading, and authors and publishers can reach new readers.
Spotify is introducing two new features: Page Match, which allows users to switch between print, e-book, and audio formats, and Audiobooks+, which lets users purchase extra audiobook listening time.
Page Match works in over 30 languages and allows users to find their place in a book using page numbers.
Audiobooks+ will be available to users on a Student plan in Ireland, Belgium, Austria, and Finland, starting in November.
