The Grenada Tourism Authority has launched a familiarization trip offer for UK travel agents and operators. Called 'Meet me in Grenada', the offer is open to agents who already sell the island and its sister islands, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, or are keen to promote them.

The authority will contribute £400 towards the cost of flights for participants, who must book their own flights and send the invoice to the GTA to claim the contribution. The GTA will arrange airport transfers and treat each agent to one on-island experience.

Participants can choose from experiences such as visiting waterfalls, rum and chocolate tours, hiking trails, or the Underwater Sculpture Park. The GTA will also arrange hotel inspections, but accommodation costs are not covered by the offer.

Agents can request travel agent rates directly from hotels for their accommodation. Places on the trip are capped at 15 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The authority will also host Marketplace in Grenada from November 11-17, an invitation-only event for about 50 trade partners. The event will include networking sessions, industry discussions, pre-scheduled business meetings, hotel inspections, and destination immersion activities.

Meryem Bennouna, the new UK sales director, said the GTA's first Grenada Exchange in London last month was a success, with 24 UK product managers, 53 lunch guests, and 74 travel agents attending. Bennouna said the event led to meaningful conversations and positive relationship-building.

UK trade partners interested in Grenada Marketplace or 'Meet me in Grenada' should contact the Grenada Tourism Authority UK team at mbennouna@puregrenada.com.

The GTA's initiatives aim to build on the growing interest in Grenada as a destination in the UK market.
