The RCMP arrested the 18-year-old on September 24, and they are now facing charges of participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and commission of an offence for a terrorist group.

The investigation began with a report of concerning online activity, which led officers to a Telegram user who had posted videos depicting their activity as a member of the 764 group.

The 764 group, which became a listed terrorist entity in December 2025, is a transnational online ecosystem of violent online predators, according to the RCMP.

Members of the group use social media and gaming platforms to lure, groom, and extort children into committing violent or sexual acts, the Government of Canada said.

A 14-year-old member of the group in Alberta was charged with crimes related to child pornography and explosives in February 2024, and a minor in Sweden linked to the group attacked a 55-year-old woman with a knife in January 2025.

The 18-year-old is expected to appear in court on Tuesday in Yorkton, but the Youth Criminal Justice Act prevents the release of further information about the individual.

The RCMP said the criminal investigation is ongoing and they will not be making further comments at this time.
