Federal investigators have charged 20 people with stealing nearly 1,500 guns from Georgia shipping facilities. The thefts occurred over less than two months, according to prosecutors.
The charges stem from multiple thefts at shipping facilities, including one in Conley where 725 Glock pistols were stolen. Two of the pistols were later sold to an undercover ATF agent.
On January 10, 2026, one of the suspects, Tremaine Snell, allegedly broke into a shipping facility in Macon and stole 469 firearms. Less than a week later, Snell and two other suspects broke into the same facility and stole 293 firearms.
ATF Atlanta Field Division Special Agent in Charge Benjamin Gibbons said the thefts were a direct attack on public safety. He stated that the GoodFellas gang and their associates allegedly put deadly firepower on the streets across multiple states.
A federal grand jury returned six indictments charging the 20 defendants with counts that included firearms trafficking, firearm possession, and theft. Of those 20, 10 were arrested since the indictment, seven were in local custody, and one was recently transferred from local to federal custody.
The investigation involved the FBI, ATF, and other law enforcement agencies, which executed search warrants at 12 locations across metro Atlanta. Agents seized firearms as well as drugs, including methamphetamine, marijuana, and fentanyl.
