Tooro King Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I has reappointed Rwomire as prime minister on an interim six-month basis. Nyakana said Rwomire was selected to lead the kingdom's executive arm and advise the king on development and administration matters.

The king also retained Charles Kayondo Kamurasi as Omujwera Musuuga, head of the Babiito royal clan. This move is part of Nyabongo I's first reshuffle since his coronation.

The Babiito clan has proposed that the king build a new palace in Kitagwenda. Moses Musinguzi, the clan's spokesperson, said the county has offered land for the palace, which would facilitate the king's work in distant counties.

The proposal is linked to the clan's preference for the king to have several wives, each with a residence. Musinguzi said Tooro tradition permits a Mubiito, including the king, to marry more than one woman.

The king has not announced plans to marry again, but the comments revive a debate that surfaced before his coronation. Rwenzori bishop Reuben Bizarwenda Kisembo had urged the king to honor his current marriage.

The new palace would give the king a place to stay during visits to Kitagwenda and Kibaale. Musinguzi cited former kings who had multiple queens, each with a palace.

The king's decision to build a new palace is seen as a move to extend his work and possibly his family. The Babiito clan's position on polygamy is at odds with the advice given by the Church of Uganda on the king's coronation day.
