Fiji Wins MSG Cup

The Fiji Bula Boys won the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2026 by defeating Vanuatu 1-0 in the final at the HFC Bank Stadium. Thomas Dunn scored the winning goal in the 10th minute, giving Fiji a 1-0 lead at half-time.

Fiji held off Vanuatu in the second half to secure the victory. Fiji captain Roy Krishna said the team was determined to win the tournament on home soil.

Krishna thanked the fans for their support and urged them to continue backing the young Fiji team. He dedicated the win to the team, teammate Tevita Warainivalu, and coach Stephane Auvray.

Fiji coach Stephane Auvray said the team changed its game plan to protect the 1-0 lead. Auvray said Fiji initially tried to play according to their first-half plan but switched three players in midfield to become more compact.

Auvray said Fiji could have done better with the chances they created but was pleased the team managed to hold on and secure the victory. Krishna believes the team has a big future under the current coaching setup.

The victory was sweet revenge for Fiji after Vanuatu defeated them 1-0 during the round-robin stage. Krishna said the team is young and will need time to develop, but continued support from the fans will be important.

The win marks a significant achievement for the Fiji Bula Boys, who lifted the title on home soil. Krishna said the victory is only the beginning for the team.
