Myanmar Man Arrested

A Myanmar national was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on suspicion of murdering a fellow countryman with a pair of scissors. The victim suffered severe abdominal injuries and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the suspect, an unemployed man in his early 30s, was arrested at a premises in Taman Maluri, Cheras, at about noon.

The victim, who was in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at 10am at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz due to severe abdominal injuries.

The case is being investigated for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and police will apply for a remand order to facilitate further investigations.

The suspect has no criminal record, according to Fadil Marsus.
