The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for canned chicken Vienna-style sausages from Jamaica. These products were imported illegally and may pose a health risk to consumers.
The alert affects 140-g cans of 'GRACE READY TO EAT CHICKEN VIENNA SAUSAGES HOT & SPICY' with establishment number 'EST. NO G-01' inside the Jamaica mark of inspection. The products were distributed to retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas.
The problem was discovered during routine surveillance activities of imported products in commerce. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products.
