ZANU PF Wins By-Elections
The party has taken Bulawayo Ward 1 and Hwange Rural District Council Ward 18. Turnout was low in Bulawayo, but higher in Hwange.

ZANU PF has won two local authority by-elections held on Saturday, 3 October. Mathias Tichaona Tsikira won in Bulawayo Ward 1 with 1,590 votes.
In Hwange Rural District Council Ward 18, Nkosilathi Mkandla won with 326 votes. Two independent candidates came second and third.
Turnout was 12.4 per cent in Bulawayo and 42.2 per cent in Hwange. A total of 15 ballot papers were rejected in Bulawayo and 13 in Hwange.
